For the subject matter of the textile techniques, I drew inspiration from my grandmother's painting and drawing style mainly, in the form of a book she gave me for my 18th birthday which had a collection of memories and drawings that she curated from the day I was born. The cover is fabric bound and painted with a rose that she frequently paints onto table cloths and other items and that has come to represent her in my mind. She also made a large wooden chest which she painted a world map on and, on the sides, wrote places of importance to us on.

From there I applied the designs to my developed silhouettes, combining the organic shapes into traditional jumper designs such as Fairisle and argyle. Considering the amount of work that would go into each jumper I set myself a goal of at least 2 jumpers and potentially a third if time allowed it.
During the break, I started working on the first jumper which has the embroidery and some felting in a circular shape around the neckline. The jumper was one that I bought second hand and felted in the wash. I liked the smaller fit and the thick felt lent itself well to the embroidery and felting on top.
